Power Animals

Power Animals can be found either by journeying yourself to the Underworld or by having another take the journey for you,preferably a shaman or at least someone walking and practicing the shamanic path.
A Power Animal will always be found when journeying with this intention but be aware that we always have to make sure we have found the right animal,the one that is ours! Once we travel to the Underworld and start looking for a Power Animal we must always ask whatever animal we find if it is ours or,if journeying for another person,if it is for that person.The animals will always let us know if they are the one we are looking for.If the first animal you find indicates that it is not the right one never be disheartened,carrying on the search will always have the right one show up eventually!Once your Power Animal is found either you or the person journeying for you,can ask why it is that this animal in particular is showing up at this time.This can bring great insight into what it is that is needed in your life at the present time.They can also show you what it is that you are prone to doing in the now and this may prompt you to change your attitude towards certain aspects of your life and take a good look at how you are relating to it.Simply looking at the animals characteristics will allow you to learn a lot about yourself.Think about how this animal behaves in the wild and what its behaviours are.How does it feed?Does it eat meat and if so how does it hunt?How does it rear its young and what are its mating habits?Remember that to truly make the most of a Power Animal we should look at both the positive traits and those we perhaps feel less happy with so as to be able to grow within ourselves.Remember,true growth is only brought about by being absolutely honest with ourselves about ourselves!Our Power Animals can show us our weaknesses and our strengths.They help us become more aware of our own personal power,hence the name!
A Power Animal always brings with it specific messages and learning opportunities and so if we are able to either find our animal or have it found for us then we are very fortunate as this can make our life journey all the more fulfilling and rewarding.Different animals can show up at different times in our lives so as to guide us in the best manner.They can build up a picture of the self quite nicely and can show themselves to you as being placed on a direction on your own medicine wheel.This can add to your understanding of how to make best use of your Power Animals energies.
